A Young Male Gets A "Driving Under The Influence" Arrest And Finally Decides To Hire A "Driving Under The Influence" Attorney

Even though Franklin wasn't an attorney, he told his son that he learned the hard way when as a young man he received a DUI, represented himself in the local court, paid fifty-five hundred dollars in penalties and fines, and served one month in jail. As he told his son, after he got released from jail, he found out from a lawyer friend that had he hired a "driving under the influence" attorney in the first place, he more likely than not would have had his penalties and fines considerably reduced and he might have never served any time in the city jail.

When Lawrence heard this he knew he needed more DUI facts and so he asked his father for more information about what a DWI attorney can do in a DWI arrest. His father then articulated the following: "A DUI lawyer will see if there's a way to get your case dismissed, and if this is not possible, your DUI attorney will be centering his or her attention on what viable defenses there are to winning your case."

When Lawrence listened to his dad explain this, it was as if his eyes were opened for the first time about the critical nature of hiring a DWI attorney. Near the end of their conversation, Lawrence said that he was starting to comprehend more about "driving under the influence" laws and what "drunk driving" lawyers can do for an individual who has received a DWI arrest.

After getting "educated" about DWI arrests, the role of DUI lawyers, and the fact that he didn't have to agree to take any field sobriety tests at the time of his arrest, Lawrence decided that he would definitely hire a DWI attorney to represent him in the local court. Something else, however, happened after he had talked to his father. Lawrence at last began to understand the serious nature of "drunk driving" arrests and, as a consequence, he arrived at a decision that from this point forward, he would always drink responsibly so that he would never again have to experience another DWI arrest.

His dad smiled at Lawrence and mentioned the following: "Lawrence,it took me until I was fifty-five years old to realize what you just told me. I am really proud of you." This did wonders for his self esteem and so Lawrence thanked his father and then said, "if I can always drink responsibly, I will never need to hire a drunk driving attorney again!"

Regrettably, there was one issue that neither Lawrence nor his father considered, namely, if Lawrence is displaying any alcohol abuse signs or perhaps if he is exhibiting any of the routine signs of alcoholism. In fact, if Lawrence is manifesting any alcohol signs that indicate alcohol dependency or alcohol abuse, more likely than not he will need alcohol treatment.

In all honesty, Lawrence may be required by the court to get rehabilitation for his abusive and excessive drinking. The positive news, conversely, is that whatever it takes to address his abusive and careless drinking, it seems like Lawrence will be motivated to do the "correct" thing.
